Ann Marie Phelan
Ann Marie Phelan, BA(Hons), M.Econ.Sc., Dip Legal Studies, BL Ann Marie has extensive experience in both the public and private sectors in enterprise and innovation going back almost 20 years. Ann Marie ran the enterprise platform programme at Waterford Institute of Technology (the forerunner to the New Frontiers programme). She also headed up the innovation and research centre at Athlone Institute of Technology. Ann Marie is a qualified barrister and has been involved for over seven years in commercial law matters in the Irish courts including in contract law, constitutional law, intellectual property law and partnership law with a range of large commercial organisations, state bodies and individual directors. Ann Marie has also run her own successful start-up company which included developing strong commercial links in China. Ann Marie holds an honours bachelor’s degree in economics from NUI Maynooth and a master’s degree in economic science from University College Dublin. She also holds a diploma in legal studies and a barrister-at-law degree from the Honorable Society of King’s Inns.
