A Learn & Win Competition Extension Announcement from N-TUTORR

Thank you to everyone who has completed the Academic Integrity Quiz to date, and for those of you still thinking about completing the Academic Integrity Quiz, we are giving you another opportunity to be entered into our Grand Prize Draw.

Competition Details:

Learn & Win Competition is open for entries from Monday 27^th November until Friday 8^th December – 5pm.

Students are invited to complete a short online course (2hrs approx.), then take and pass the Academic Integrity Challenge Quiz*

Students who complete the 6 short modules and pass the Challenge quiz will be issued a Digital Badge of completion. And that’s not all!……they will automatically qualify for entry to a Grand Prize Draw with great prizes:

Discuss why academic integrity is important for study and future professional practice
Demonstrate an understanding of the expectations of the academic environment
Explain the key concepts, principles and practices of academic integrity
Identify and reflect on your motivations for studying

Module 2: How do I show academic integrity in my preparation?

Identify ways to maintain academic integrity under pressure
Allocate work and responsibility to ensure academic integrity when working with others
Explain the reasons for communicating or building on others’ ideas or work
Identify relevant sources, narrow searches and evaluate if the source itself adheres to the principles of academic integrity
Explain the importance of recording source information to ensure academic integrity

Module 3: How do I show Academic Integrity in my work?

Demonstrate understanding of the importance of academic integrity when evaluating different sources and making notes
Demonstrate academic integrity through the appropriate use of referencing
Recognise the different ways to refer to another person’s work or ideas with integrity
Differentiate between quotations, paraphrases and summaries to incorporate source material into your writing
Use text-matching software to help demonstrate academic integrity in your assignments
Show academic integrity when you work with other people

Module 4: How can I feel more confident about Academic Integrity?

Identify and reflect on recent academic integrity challenges
Identify ways to show academic integrity when working with other students
Demonstrate confidence in making decisions based on academic integrity

Module 5: How do I deal with more complex situations?

Reflect on the academic integrity expectations of major assessments
Recognise appropriate sources of support
Identify the differences between self-plagiarism and ethical re-use of your own work
Use and reference digital media (e.g. images and video) with academic integrity
Gain confidence in the use of software and online tools that support academic integrity

Module 6: Understand generative Artificial Intelligence (ChatGPT, DALL-E, etc.)

Identify and reflect on recent advances in Generative Artificial Intelligence
Understand ways to recognise Generative Artificial Intelligence
Demonstrate confidence in making decisions based on the use of Artificial Intelligence
