IADT Alumni work to reach audiences across Portugal through CINANIMA
Running from 2–13 November, the initiative will bring a curated programme featuring IADT alumni work to 22 higher education institutions across Portugal, spanning the north, centre and south of the country, as well as the Azores and Madeira.
Established in 2014, CINANIMA at Universities brings auteur animation into higher education settings, giving thousands of students from animation, film, media arts and other disciplines the opportunity to discover and discuss contemporary animated work.
The 2026 programme gives IADT alumni valuable international exposure, with their work screening for audiences in cities including Porto, Braga, Coimbra, Lisbon, Faro, Ponta Delgada and Funchal, alongside many other locations across Portugal.
This year is particularly significant for CINANIMA as its International Animated Film Festival celebrates 50 consecutive annual editions, with the anniversary festival taking place in Espinho from 6-22 November 2026.

IADT is proud to see the work of its alumni reaching new international audiences and contributing to the celebration and discussion of contemporary animation across Portugal.
Special thanks to BA [Hons] Animation Year 4 Lead and Lecturer Jack O’Shea for his work in supporting this engagement and creating this opportunity to showcase IADT alumni talent internationally.
More details, including the IADT alumni works featured in the programme, will be released soon.
