IADT + 1916 – James Joyce, Modernism and 1916 – March 15th 2016
The annual Joyce Day is a celebration of the work of James Joyce and his connections to the Dun Laoghaire Rathdown area. Students participate in a series of Joyce-related events, including a Joycean breakfast; costume competition; Joyce Day quiz and student-led performance.
This year in particular marks the centenary of Joyce’s Portrait of the Artist and, as such Joyce Day 2016 will focus on the relationship between the novel and the 1916 commemorations, as well as national and international strands of modernity and modernism.
