IADT Tertiary team present at Joint Tertiary Programme Workshop with Minister Harris

Over the last nine months the tertiary partnerships have brought their collective energy and knowledge to co-design, validate and launch a number of unique programmes. IADT worked together with our partners BIFE and BCFE to launch the BA (Hons) Immersive Media Production. Dr Andrew Power (Vice President, Academic Affairs and Registrar, IADT) participated in a panel discussion with Dr Alan Wall (CEO, HEA), Nessa White (Executive Director Transformation at SOLAS), Andrew Brownlee (CEO, SOLAS) and colleagues.
Minister Simon Harris TD, Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science of Ireland opened the workshop and delivered the keynote address to representatives from current and future Tertiary partnerships.
The Joint Tertiary Programme Workshop brought together a discussion on the initial learnings and future recommendations for the proof-of-concept phase of the initiative.
Joint Tertiary Degrees recognise that access to Higher Education can be influenced by a range of factors which can influence academic performance at second level. These factors may include being a member of a minority group who experience discrimination, coming from an unemployment blackspot area, having an illness or disability or having experience of living in care. To identify an applicant’s full potential, once the minimum requirements are met, the National Tertiary Office and the Tertiary Partnerships through the development and delivery of Joint Tertiary Degrees is committed to addressing under-representation of certain groups within higher education.
