IADT welcomes €200m announcement of investment in Institutes of Technology
Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design, + Technology (IADT) welcomes the announcement today (16 October) of a major capital investment in higher education. The announcement, made jointly by Minister for Education and Skills, Richard Bruton TD, and Minister for Higher Education, Mary Mitchell O'Connor TD, promises funding for 11 major capital investment projects which will deliver brand new state of the art facilities to Institutes of Technology across the country. The investment will include eleven major infrastructure projects to be delivered around the country as part of a €200 million PPP Programme for the higher education sector.
David Holohan, Chairperson of the Governing Body, welcomed the announcement for the most exciting phase of the Institute’s expansion to date.
“This investment in the infrastructural developments align directly to key focus areas for the future, namely enhancing student experience and building on our technology and design agenda and facilities.”
Dr. Annie Doona, President, IADT added “This investment by the Department of Education and Skills will have enormous impact not only for IADT, but also for the Creative, Cultural and Technological sectors regionally and internationally. The funding is a real expression of confidence and support for IADT, its students and staff and will greatly assist the Institute in further improving the student experience”.
