Make Your Mark, an Exhibition by St. Kilian’s Community School, Bray
Make Your Mark will showcase the work of the school’s two art classes, made with support from IADT Art students, Yasmin Fadian and Samuel Kinsella. As part of a pilot initiative developed in collaboration with IADT’s Access Service, Yasmin and Samuel are currently on placement in St. Kilian’s CS, where they have been sharing their skills and experience.
The exhibition will take place on Wednesday 25th March, from 11am to 3pm, in the Trever Scott Hall. All are welcome to attend!
About the Project
This semester, IADT’s Access Service has been working in collaboration with St. Kilian’s art teachers and students, with the aim of providing an early positive experience of Higher Education to one of our linked DEIS schools. The pilot project, looks to enhance the learning, development of new skills, and creative output for DEIS students by supporting their Junior Cycle CBA Art assignment.
The classes were brought on campus in January to participate in a series of taster workshops, including a Print Workshop with Cora Cummins, a Stop Motion Workshop with Tim Lloyd and a Green Screen Workshop with Adrian O’Connell and Lynda Devenney.
Following the workshops, the classes were paired with Yasmin Fadian and Samuel Kinsella, two IADT Art students. Yasmin and Samuel have been working with the classes on a weekly basis, sharing their skills and experience, and providing guidance for the students as they work towards their Classroom Based Assessment Project.
The exhibition gives a snapshot into some of the work that has been taking place in the classrooms, and we look forward to hosting the students on campus on Wednesday 25th March.
