IADT celebrates colleagues through the President’s Awards
IADT was delighted to recognise the exceptional contribution of colleagues at our inaugural President’s Awards, which celebrate individual staff members whose work has made a distinctive and positive impact across the Institute.
The Awards provide an important opportunity to acknowledge colleagues who demonstrate leadership, creativity, commitment and service in ways that advance IADT’s mission, values and strategic ambitions. They also reflect the strength of our shared community and the many ways in which staff contribute to the experience of our students, the support of colleagues and the continued development of IADT.
This year’s Awards were presented in two categories: the Teaching Excellence Award and the Service Excellence Award.
The Teaching Excellence Award recognises exceptional creativity, innovation and impact in teaching, learning or curriculum development. This year’s nominees were:
- Dr. Deirdre O’Toole, FilmEU Academic Coordinator
- John Dempsey, Lecturer
- Vanessa Gildea, Lecturer
The recipient of the Teaching Excellence Award was John Dempsey.
The Service Excellence Award recognises outstanding contributions that advance IADT’s mission and values through areas such as research, collaboration, sustainability, global engagement, transformation, innovation or other forms of service. This year’s nominees were:
- Linda Carroll, Operations Manager – European University
- Linda Doyle, Staff Officer
- Mary Anne O’Carroll, Staff Training, Learning + Development Officer
- Mary Murphy, Staff Officer
- Paul Curran, Digital Education Lead
- Rachel Gallagher, Enterprise + Development Manager
- Dr Tina Kinsella, Head of Research
The recipient of the Service Excellence Award was Linda Doyle.
Reflecting on the significance of the inaugural President’s Awards, President David Smith said: “I am delighted that we have now formally established the President’s Awards as a moment to recognise and celebrate the contribution of colleagues across IADT. It is a well-established truth that the quality of any organisation is simply its people, and for IADT that means our staff and our students. These Awards are nominally called the President’s Awards, but at their heart, they are about peer recognition. The nominations speak powerfully to the collegiality, friendship, trust and quiet commitment that colleagues bring to IADT every day.”
IADT warmly congratulates both Award recipients and all nominees. Being nominated for a President’s Award is itself a significant recognition, and each nominee has made a valued contribution to the Institute.
We would also like to sincerely thank all colleagues who took the time to nominate others and to provide letters of support. Taking the time to recognise the contribution of colleagues is an important act of collegiality and reflects the respectful, supportive and ambitious community we continue to build together at IADT.
