IADT Design for Film Students Celebrate Creativity & Community at St Patrick’s Day Parade
Marching alongside performers, musicians, local clubs and community organisations, the students showcased vibrant creations designed and built by hand. Their playful, eye-catching models added a distinctive creative flair to the parade, capturing the spirit of IADT’s hands-on, innovative approach to learning.
This year’s parade featured an impressive mix of Irish culture, creativity and community spirit, including groups such as Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, the Irish Coast Guard, Twilight Twirlers, Samba Dance Brazil, the RNLI, Dún Laoghaire Tidy Towns, and many more. Olympian Cormac Comerford served as Grand Marshal, with broadcaster, businessman and IADT Honorary Fellow, Bobby Kerr bringing energy as MC along the route.
The IADT students’ contribution stood out as a lively celebration of art, design and collaboration — a testament to the skill, enthusiasm and creative talent nurtured within the BA (Hons) Design for Film – Modelmaking programme.
