Doors are open from 5:30pm. We ask that you arrive to arrive no later than 5.50pm so that we can ensure everyone is seated before the event begins at 6.00pm. Late-comers may not be admitted.

Join us for an inspiring evening with Tania Banotti, Director of Creative Ireland, in conversation with Dr Linda King. Together, they’ll explore Tania’s career journey, her leadership in Creative Ireland, and the ambition and achievements of this ground-breaking national programme.
Since its establishment in 2017 (and renewal in 2023), Creative Ireland has become one of Ireland’s most ambitious all-of-government culture and wellbeing programmes. Under Tania’s leadership, it has flourished into a dynamic initiative that:
- Partners with 8 government departments, 12 state agencies, and all 31 local authorities
- Embeds creativity into communities, education, health, climate action, and industry
- Supports Creative Youth projects like Cruinniú na nÓg and the Nurture Fund
- Champions digital creativity — from gaming and design to AR/VR
- Strengthens cross-border collaboration through the Shared Island initiative

Dr Linda King is an historian and educator, and a specialist in analysing Irish design and visual culture as social and cultural history. She is Senior Lecturer in Design History and Visual Culture at the Institute of Art, Design and Technology (IADT), Dublin.
Dr Daithí Mac Síthigh is Director of Strategy at IADT. Formerly, he was Head of Research at IADT. He was Professor of Law and Innovation at Queen’s University Belfast and Reader in Law and Associate Dean (Humanities and Social Sciences) of Research and Innovation at Newcastle University.

The opening event marks the beginning of this new multidisciplinary series at The Carnegie Library, Dún Laoghaire, welcoming influential voices from the worlds of Culture, Business, Community, Sustainability, Social Inclusion, and the Arts.
Through these conversations, we aim to reflect and support IADT’s strategic goals by fostering collaboration across our strengths in the creative arts, creative technologies, and creative business.
