Writing TV Drama Certificate Information Session
IADT invites you to join an introduction session to the Certificate in Writing Television Drama hosted by Eilish Kent online on Wednesday 27th September at 7pm.
There will be an information session along with a Q+A.
Register to attend here.
Over a four-month period, you will be walked through the development process of your own idea by teachers who work in the industry and have a rich and varied experience developing, pitching and commissioning TV dramas in a variety of formats.
You will learn how to identify the strengths in your ideas and develop those ideas to give your project series legs. Looking at current successes, from streamers, you will be informed to make strategic decisions about your projects and the creative approach. By the end of the course you will understand what makes a compelling pilot script and be well on the way to having written your own.
The course is chaired by Eilish Kent who has over 25 years professional experience developing TV drama in Ireland and the UK, including series THE HARDY BUCKS, PATHS TO FREEDOM, RAW and LOVE IS THE DRUG. She produced the feature documentary UNDER THE CLOCK and most recently wrote the treatment for VICKY.
“Completing this course with Eilish at IADT, was one of the best decisions I ever made. It unlocked the writer within me, but not only that it taught me all about the business of TV Writing – how to write and create all the packaging materials needed to pitch your series. An essential for all writers and something I’ve never seen on another writing programme before. Book your place now, it’s a fantastic course.” Anna Manion, writer/producer Trimoon Films, Certificate in Writing TV Drama graduate 2021.
The project Anna worked on, in this course, had been put into development with Netflix.
