Where do I apply?
EU applicants apply via the CAO for undergraduate programmes at IADT.

Applicants with a Non EU fee status must apply directly to IADT undergraduate programmes using the International Undergraduate application form above.
Application Checklist
Please ensure you upload the following documents:

Copy of Passport

Copy of Curriculum Vitae (CV): Detailed and up to date

Personal Statement (400–600 words): Outlining your motivation and suitability for studying this course

Proof of English Language Proficiency: As outlined in the application guidelines.
If not applicable, please upload a copy of your passport or academic transcripts in this section.

Official Academic Transcripts and/or Final year Exam achievement: Official copies in their original language and certified translations into English must be provided if applicable.

Final Year Transcripts:
If you do not yet have your final year transcripts, please upload a Word document stating the date and type of qualification you expect to receive, or provide a copy of your predicted grades.
EU and Non-EU applicants apply directly to IADT postgraduate programme using this Application Form
Applications for Postgraduate Programmes are now open for the September 2026 intake.
Please note that IADT offers only one intake per year for Postgraduate Programmes — September.
How to Determine if you are an EU or Non-EU Applicant
Please be advised that your fee assessment status determines how you should apply.
In all cases, IADT undergraduate applicants who are granted EU fee status will only be admitted through the Central Applications Office system, in line with CAO policies and procedures and the IADT Access, Transfer + Progression Policy.
How to Determine your Fee Status
Answer the following questions to help determine your status:
- Were you born outside the EU/EEA?
- Have you, or your parents, lived outside the EU/EEA for 3 of the last 5 years?
- Are you a non-EU/EEA National?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, review the International Undergraduate Students Fee Information document or International Postgraduate Students Fee Information document on the Fees and Grants page.

Undergraduate Programmes: Key Dates & Deadlines
- Application Opening: 5th November
- Restricted Programme Application Deadline: 1st February. (Portfolio-based programmes)
- Non-restricted Programmes Application Closing Date: 1st May
- Portfolio Submission Deadline: 10th March 2026 (if applicable)

Note: Applicants will not receive an offer for restricted/portfolio-based programmes if the portfolio has not been submitted or passed.

How are Qualifications Assessed?
EU undergraduate applications are processed through the Central Applications Office (CAO).
Applicants presenting an international qualification, other than Irish Leaving Certificate, can check entry requirements criteria by country HERE.
Non-EU undergraduate applications are processed by the IADT Admissions team.
Applicants presenting an international qualification, other than Irish Leaving Certificate, can check entry requirements criteria by country HERE or NARIC databases (Ireland, UK and others as required) to compare foreign qualifications against the published admission criteria.
If you are over the age of 23 on 1st January on the year of entry, you may be considered as a mature student. Mature applicants, are not typically required to meet the minimum entry requirements specified for standard applicants. However, some programme specific minimum requirements must be met. Please see here for details.
The assessment of postgraduate applications includes the use of NARIC databases (Ireland, UK and others as required) to compare foreign qualifications against the published admission criteria.
English Language Requirements
If English is not your first language or you are from a country where the official language is not English, you must provide evidence of one of the following qualifications before an offer can be made. English language test results must normally have been issued within two years prior to the start of a programme. IADT’s English Language Policy Statement can be viewed HERE.
- IELTS 6.5 (with no band lower than 6.0)
- TOEFL iBT 90
- Duolingo 120
- Cambridge C1
- LanguageCert ESOL
Have completed a full qualification (minimum one academic year) through the instruction of English, at NFQ level 5 or higher.
