Green Ribbon Day
The Annual National Green Ribbon campaign took place in IADT on Friday 19th May. The campaign, which is managed by See Change and funded by the HSE’s Mental Health Division, aims to promote open conversation about mental health and challenge the stigma of mental health problems.
Taking the Time for a Chat and Listening to our Colleagues
The chances are that you, or someone you know, will go through a tough time at some point so why not talk about it and learn how to support each other? You don’t need to be an expert to start talking about mental health or have all the answers. Sometimes the most helpful thing you can do is to let someone know that you are there for them and simply listen – it is about making the time and space for a conversation about mental health with family, friends and colleagues.
The campaign sees 500,000 green ribbons distributed across the country and IADT has its own green ribbons for staff and students. Please engage with this positive promotion – maybe chatting to someone you haven’t chatted to in a while, starting conversations with a group of colleagues from across the campus, or simply saying hello to others wearing a ribbon that you meet throughout that day in particular.
