Emma Mathias
Profile
Emma Mathias is an Assistant Lecturer on the BSc (Hons.) in Applied Psychology in the Department of Technology & Psychology.
She currently teaches the 2nd year Cognitive Psychology module, the 3rd Year Group IT Project module, and is responsible for the supervision of 4th Year research projects.
Emma holds a BA (Hons.) in Psychology and an MSc in Development Studies from UCD, and has over 15 years’ experience working in the fields of Mental Health, Intellectual Disability, and Education. Emma is a PhD Candidate at the Centre for Sustainable Development Studies, UCD, and is working on an interdisciplinary PhD project entitled ‘Exploring the Phenomenology of Mental Illness in sub-Saharan Africa: A Case Study of Ghana’, bridging her expertise in the area of Mental Health and International Development.
