2025 Immigration Update
Irish Student Visa Processing Times have reached 12 to 16 weeks for many countries. Therefore if you are applying to IADT from a visa-requiring country and are hoping to enrol on a fulltime programme in September then you must submit your visa application no later than May to ensure that it is processed.
Non-EEA students can only be granted a study visa and Stamp 2 immigration permission in respect of attendance on a course of study on a programme listed on the ILEP. Where programme titles on letters vary from the ILEP listed programme titles, this can result in delay/refusal of visa applications or students being unable to register an immigration permission.
To reduce unnecessary stress please check that the programme reference code (column A in ILEP) should be included in all letters/correspondence provided to students for the purpose of a visa application or registration/renewal of immigration permission.
Please be advised that non-EEA students who may be planning trips, that a valid passport and an in-date IRP card are required in order to travel from, and return to, this jurisdiction. While there are no permanent immigration controls in place between this jurisdiction and Northern Ireland, people travelling between both may be subject to immigration checks. Non-EEA students planning to visit Northern Ireland may need to apply for a UK visa in advance and should research accordingly.
