I am experiencing persistent stress/anxiety
We each will encounter times of feeling stressed or anxious; especially during periods of high-demand and workload.
Similarly, a distressing event or major change in your life can affect your stress regulation capacity. These changes could be both foreseen or unforeseen.
A persistent, elevated state of anxiety can affect how you think, feel and behave, and show signs including:
• feeling overwhelmed (feeling that everything is too much)
• difficulty concentrating or making decisions
• being irritable
• avoiding certain places or people
• being on edge, restless or irritable
• feeling a sense of dread
• repeatedly checking things or seeking assurance from others
• avoiding situations or putting off doing things you are worried about
JIGSAW are the national youth mental health organisation and provide helpful support resources and tools for managing stress and anxiety symptom.
If your anxiety symptoms have been ongoing on for a while or getting worse, you may need to talk to a professional.
