IADT announce the launch of ReSound: The European Sound Masters
Discover ReSound, a groundbreaking new Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Programme that reimagines the role of sound in culture, society, and the creative industries.
This two-year, four-semester journey elevates sound as a fully-fledged discipline and a starting point for exploring sound’s profound connection to image, space, and experience.
ReSound equips graduates with the expertise to navigate diverse industries, from cinema to immersive media, video games, live events and beyond, offering boundless career opportunities.
A Unique Pan-European Collaboration
ReSound brings together expertise from three prestigious institutions within the FilmEU European University alliance:
Institute of Art, Design + Technology (IADT) Ireland
Leading the programme, IADT offers cutting-edge facilities for prospective sound students, providing an unparalleled environment to nurture creative and technical skills. At the heart of the campus lies the prestigious National Film School, boasting state-of-the-art Film and TV studios designed for professional-level production. Students have access to two Dolby Atmos mix suites and a 5.1 surround sound mixing suite, complete with a Foley recording stage and a dedicated vocal booth for precise audio work. The immersive media production facility allows students to explore the frontier of sound in virtual and augmented reality projects.
Universidade Lusófona (UL) Portugal
Lusófona is well equipped for all work related to sound, from recording studios to post-production rooms. There is a general-purpose recording studio featuring state-of-the art equipment which can be used for both instrumental music and general sound projects such as sonic art, foley and voice-over.
Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre (LMTA)
Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre’s (LMTA) state-of-the-art facilities include a spatial sound sphere, two recording studios, video and audio editing workstations, a 99–seat cinema hall, as well as a specialised cinema hall for sound mixing and mastering, and two film studios.
Through Erasmus+ mobility, students experience a truly European education, studying across Europe while gaining an insight into alternative cultural and educational perspectives. All ReSound students will study at each of the three locations over the duration of the programme.
This mobility broadens outlooks, fosters cross-cultural collaboration, and opens doors to international opportunities.
