Caroline has responsibility for the progression of the Healthy Campus Charter and Framework across higher education, supported by Healthy Ireland, an initiative of the Government of Ireland. She was on campus to attend the final Healthy Campus Steering Group meeting for 2022 and IADT President David Smith, Students Union President Eoin Hicks Smyth and Mary Anne O’Carroll Chair of the Healthy Campus Steering Group signed the Charter on behalf of IADT.
We took the opportunity to take a photo with Caroline and members of the cross campus steering group. Caroline spoke to the group with updates on the progression of the Healthy Campus Charter and Framework across institutions nationally. The HEA formally took over the roll-out of the Framework in 2022, which is supported by Healthy Ireland, an initiative of the Government of Ireland. The whole-campus approach along with strong leadership were noted as key elements to systematically support student and staff health and wellbeing.
To fulfil obligations under the Healthy Campus Charter and Framework the IADT Steering Group aims to promote good physical & mental health as well as a positive work life balance across the IADT community. The group organise and support initiatives to engage staff and students in wellbeing activities across the diverse campus community.
