National Film School Students Broadcast the National FÍS Film Festival
IADT's National Film School students in MA Broadcast Production showcased their production skills to a capacity audience at the FÍS Film Festival Awards Ceremony for primary schools. The Masters students were responsible for the broadcasting and filming of this event. It was streamed live via the FÍS Film Project website courtesy of the National Education & Research network, HEAnet.
Students worked with industry experts for OB Unit, Set Design, Lighting Ops, Projector & Screen Ops, Jib Ops and RTE Presenter, Sinead Kennedy. They gained real world broadcasting experience that they can take forward into their future careers.
Speaking at the festival, FÍS Manager, Bernie Meagher said “there is great synergy between the technical production requirements of the festival and the aims of the MA which is a production-centered programme. The FÍS Film Festival Award Ceremony is an important date in the IADT calendar and it's reassuring to know that we can team up with the NFS staff and students to deliver this logistically challenging event.”
