Across all programmes at IADT – undergraduate and postgraduate, full-time, part-time and micro-credentials – RPL has something for everyone. This pathway can be used for access to a programme, advanced entry (beyond year one) or exemption from a module or modules to avoid repeated learning. RPL focusses on all types of learning that we encounter every day. In our jobs, through extracurricular activities, training of all kinds and more. By enabling individual learners to map their experience and connect its relevance to the programme that they are applying to, RPL opens the door to accreditation.
Through invaluable resources like the RPL Guide for Learners, individuals are empowered by the knowledge of what RPL is, what the 5-step process looks like and how it may apply to them. This robust resource passes the power to the learner so that they can embark on their ‘pathway to qualification’, realising their potential through RPL. The guide provides a thorough overview of the RPL process and the different types of learning that qualify for an RPL application – formal, informal and non-formal.
If you are considering returning to education and you think that your life and work experience may be relevant to your chosen programme, check out the RPL Learner Guide by downloading below and start your journey to accreditation.
“Recognition of Prior Learning is a means of making what you already know explicit and setting you up to learn the skills, competencies and knowledge you require to feel confident and strong in your own authority. An IADT education is a transformative experience and an exciting pathway to the qualifications you need for your future career.” – Dr Selina Guinness, Head of Teaching & Learning and RPL Project Lead IADT
