IADT Students Collaborate on RIAM Opera: La Vera Costanza (1779)
In collaboration with IADT students, the Royal Academy of Music presents this year’s Opera: La Vera Costanza (1779).
Presented in collaboration with Costume Design, Character Makeup and Production Design students, from IADT’s BA [Hons] Design for Film, RIAM presents this year’s Opera: La Vera Costanza (1779).
This year’s Opera poster and visual identity design is by IADT’s BA [Hons] Graphic Design 4th year student Shonagh Darroch.
Packed with joy, comedy, romance, sensational twists and wonderful music, Haydn’s La Vera Costanza was first performed in 1779 at the Esterhazy court.
We have a wronged heroine, who is a fisherwoman, her protective brother, a scheming baroness, her impatient lover, an unhappy count, a foolish fop, and almost needless to add, a cheeky maid! There are misunderstandings, thunderstorms, a household of spies, and a big secret!
Haydn’s witty and inventive opera is the perfect vehicle for a brilliant cast of the RIAM’s finest singers, conducted by Andrew Synnott and directed by Hélène Montague.
Sung in Italian with English subtitles.
