Tribute to former IADT President Jim Devine
The death has taken place of Mr Jim Devine, a former President of IADT. Jim played an pivotal role in the growth and development of IADT where he was Registrar and subsequently President (1998 – 2011).
Jim was the driving force behind the development of the National Film School at IADT alongside colleagues Aileen MacKeogh and Donald Taylor-Black. Jim is survived by his wife Ruth, and his children Ian, Elizabeth and Jenny and his adored grandchildren.
In a tribute the IADT President Mr David Smith said;
“It was with great sadness that we learned of Jim’s passing. As a former President, close colleague, and a personal friend to many here at IADT his loss will be deeply felt.
His vision and ambition for the Institute and his pivotal role in the establishment of the National Film School is a proud and lasting legacy. Personally, Jim provided great support and encouragement during every stage of my career here at the Institute. He will be greatly missed.
Our thoughts and condolences are with Ruth, Ian, Jenny and Elizabeth at this very sad time.”
