Applied Psychology Student Awarded Prestigious George Moore Scholarship
Clodagh, who is in the final stages of a BSc in Applied Psychology at IADT, explained that “I will be heading to Loughborough University in 2023 to study User Experience and Service Design. I feel so lucky to have been afforded this opportunity and to be supported by the George Moore Scholars programme and I cannot wait to start my master’s degree! I plan to spend the next year getting some more experience in the area of UX before the course begins.”
Dr John Greaney elaborated that “In the course of completing her accredited psychology degree, Clodagh has tackled several design projects in collaboration with local schools and St. Vincent’s hospital e.g. the design of apps to help children learn or health workers de-stress. This Masters programme will allow Clodagh to further her skills in combining psychology with creative design.”
The George Moore Scholars programme is an all-Ireland scholarship which supports academically talented students who wish to undertake a Master’s degree in the USA, Canada, UK, Australia or New Zealand.
Ms. Sinéad Meade, Chair of the BSc Applied Psychology degree at IADT, added that “I am delighted that Clodagh has been recognised as an outstanding student and awarded a prestigious George Moore Scholarship to study a Masters at Loughborough. This is a valuable opportunity for Clodagh to further develop her interests in technology and psychology.”
