Chloe Danga | BSc Creative Computing
Why did you choose to study Creative Computing at IADT?
The course was recommended to me by a good friend. She described how diverse and interesting it was and how the many different modules were challenging yet exciting. Although I have no real background in computers, I felt this would be a good challenge and it would stimulate, educate and inspire me.
What was your journey to IADT?
I put it down as my first choice on my CAO and came into this course via predicted grades.
What aspects of the course have you found most interesting?
Honestly, I never realised how much work truly went into a website for it to appear on a screen. Another subject I did not think I would like was computer technology, although I went into it with my eyes open and I found the class really engaging, thought-provoking and inviting. I really liked learning about the inner workings of everything; I liked getting to compare different types of computers and getting to know how computers are made. The course is fast-paced and exciting.
What has surprised you most about the course?
Everything you learn in one class will always relate to something else in another. Creative Computing really wraps up everything together, which keeps you on your toes.
What’s the most fun you’ve had?
Creating a website describing what code does! I played around with it a lot and added gifs, pictures and things I thought would add to the humour. It was probably the most fun I have ever had doing homework.
Why would you recommend this course to prospective students?
It is a great course, and the people tend to be kind and helpful, as well as the lecturers. It is a good course to develop new skills that are in high demand.
What do you enjoy about studying at IADT?
The atmosphere is very chill, people are welcoming and always treat you with respect and kindness. It is such a diverse college with many opportunities to make many new friends with the wide range of societies and clubs.
