Why did you choose to study Creative Computing at IADT?
I started college life studying Computer Science in a university, with class sizes of 80-160 people. After second year I realised I wanted a course that was more design-based, which taught a variety of creative technologies.
What has surprised you about the course?
The benefit of small class sizes was a pleasant surprise! We started off as a group of around 50, split between two classes. The lecturers got to know us, we got to know our classmates, and I felt it made such a difference to the learning environment, especially coming from packed lecture halls!
What’s the most fun you’ve had?
Watching the annual performance of The Rocky Horror Picture Show! The societies and DSS students are phenomenal and always put on a great show!
Why would you recommend this course to prospective students?
This course teaches you how to look at a problem from a visual perspective, and create something based on proper user experience and design principles used in the industry. There’s no point building software that no one wants to use!
What do you enjoy about studying at IADT?
How kind and helpful everyone is. There’s always someone around who can help when you need it. IADT is a unique college with such a diverse and creative student body. Quite literally, everyone is welcome. There are plug sockets all over the place, even in some of the couches… It’s the little things.
