Paraic Mc Quaid: Waiting Room
CATALYST ARTS
9th – 19th October 2019
Opening Reception: Wednesday, October 9th, 6pm
The site-specific installation Waiting Room continues Paraic Mc Quaid’s interest in the impotence of architecture in the age of Internet and digitalisation. The Dublin-based artist uses mirrors as a magical reflective surface and as an illusive symbol of virtual existence. Taking references from the waiting spaces of airports, Waiting Room creates a transitory space between two worlds.
Paraic Mc Quaid is a visual artist living and working in Dublin, Ireland. He works in sculpture, video, and installation. He has extensive experience working in the area of collaborative arts practice. Paraic lectures in Cultural Policy in the Institute of Art Design and Technology (IADT) Dún Laoghaire.
