Peter Mullen | MSc UX Design
“I was working for a national newspaper as a graphic designer for almost 20 years. While the work was mostly for print at first, the demand for design for screens increased quickly. I had been thinking about a career change for several years and after I finished a part-time BA in Graphic Design I decided to apply to the MSc UX Design in IADT to ‘future-proof’ myself and improve my career options. The MSc by evening fitted in with my professional and home life, but compared to other courses I thought the module content of the IADT course was the most impressive.”
“During the course I was exposed to concepts that I didn’t know a lot about. I learned how psychology, research and user testing could be used to produce work that is not only visually attractive but grounded in solid rationale through a process of human-centred design. I probably learned something new every time I went into class – whether it was the class topic/project or through collaborating with the lecturers and other students. I often think back to how lucky I was to be around so many talented people. The camaraderie and sense of team was a big part of my success during my time at IADT.”
