ELEVATE is a dynamic 4-year initiative designed to strengthen the IADT Research and Innovation Office, fostering structured engagement with local and regional enterprises, and community stakeholders. Funded under the TU Research and Innovation Supporting Enterprise scheme (TU RISE), ELEVATE primarily focuses on the Creative and Cultural Industries.
TU RISE is co-financed by the Government of Ireland and the European Union through the ERDF Southern, Eastern & Midland Regional Programme 2021-27 and the Northern & Western Regional Programme 2021-27.
Extending our specialist research focus, four “Creation Bridges” will transform our campus into a “live studio” in these areas:
Promoting evidence-based research, informing and shaping political and civic debate on the social and economic impacts of policy on the Creative and Cultural Industries and upon culture and society, through the lens of EDI, Social Sciences, Thought Leadership and Strategic Planning.
GROW is the research growth, training, engagement and impact engine, which will host our academics, teams of researchers, and a suite of training packages, and develop networks for our Academic Residency and Industry Fellowship programmes to seed and grow the next areas of specialisations.
Objectives:
1. Develop regional creative industries research and innovation ecosystem including new access routes for industry to IADT research community through networks, collaborations, events, workshops and design challenges.
2. Strengthen IADT’s research capacity and expertise to cultivate a dynamic research community that generates world class research outcomes.
3. Expand upon IADT’s pathway for the translation of IADT research outputs and expertise into industry by utilising mechanism such as Intellectual Property allocation, accelerator programmes and commercialisation.
4. Develop and improve support structures across IADT to effectively maintain and optimise research and industry engagement activity by integration of digital supports.
5. Promote equality, diversity and inclusion as a crucial step towards enhancing IADTs research and innovation potential for the Creative Industries.
ELEVATE includes a diverse array of research and industry engagement initiatives including:
The establishment of a cutting-edge Innovation Vision Laboratory with dedicated technical support. The Innovation Vision Lab will facilitate collaboration between researchers and industry partners utilising state of the art audio visual technology.
ELEVATE will deliver a series of events designed to initiate and nurture industry/academia collaboration. These will include showcase events, student events, the IADT Accelerator programme and two events focusing upon female founders in the creative and cultural industries.
ELEVATE will develop a conscious and inclusive approach to research and research culture through strengthening understanding of equality, diversity, inclusivity and belonging amongst our IADT community.
