Black Shamrock Game Development Studio visits IADT
On Friday 9th of February 2024, the Institute of Art and Design, Dún Laoghaire’s Faculty of Film, Art and Creative Technologies were delighted to welcome members from the creative team at Black Shamrock - a Virtuos Studio (The largest AAA games company in Ireland).
Students from IADT, Design for Film, 3D Design, Modelmaking and Digital Art and Animation enjoyed Black Shamrock‘s Educational Outreach presentations in Art and Animation. This provided valuable lessons about roles in the studio and a career in video games for the students. Students engaged with portfolio clinics conducted by Desirae Norem, Animation Director, Sabrina Cecchini, Senior Animator and Emil Lefter, Environmental Artist whilst John Patrick Molloy Creative Director offered advice on graduate pathways and careers.
The Black Shamrock team on the day was led by Robert Emerson, Talent Acquisition & CSR Specialist. The day supplied for a valuable and enjoyable experience for all! Thanks also to Dawn O Connor, Careers and Employability at IADT, for planning the entire visit.
