Deferral of Modules for Exams/Assessment
For students who feel they are unable to complete their examination/assessment, by reason of ill health, access to technology, family responsibilities or any other reasonable concerns, the option of deferral is available to them.
The deferral form, available for download below, should be completed in full by the student, who should attach any relevant supporting documentation and then and forward to their relevant Faculty Administrative Office. It is important to note that these will be considered no fault deferrals, ie there is no academic applied.
It is important to note that, if a student opts to defer a single module to Autumn but then fails it, it may be possible to progress into the following year whilst carrying this module, as an exceptional measure, up to a maximum of 10 credits. This is not available to those progressing into an Award Year in the following year, however.
The final decision on this lies with the Exam Board. However, if they defer a number, or all, modules, and fail more than 10 credits, they will have to repeat, with attendance, into the following year (without being able to progress).
Please note that:
- All examinations/assessments are carried out under the health and safety guidelines in place at that time
- Schedule may be subject to change; please ensure you check the most up-to-date schedule on the website
