CFA learners to benefit from fee reduction across a range of courses
IADT has been awarded a total of €119,480 under a Human Capital Initiative (HCI) Pillar 3 Micro-Credential Learner Fee Subsidy funding call. The assessment process was overseen by the Higher Education Authority and the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science.
Students on specified courses will be entitled to a reduction in their fees of 50%. The subsidised courses are aligned with areas of demand and will allow learners to upskill in disciplines the government feels are central to national priorities. Micro-Credential courses are small, accredited courses designed to facilitate lifelong learning and meet the demands of learners, enterprise and society. Micro-Credential courses award between 1 and 30 ECTS and provide awards at Levels 6-9 on the National Framework of Qualifications.
Commenting on the announcement David Smith, IADT President said: “We are delighted to see HCI/HEA further support for students in offering fee subsidies for micro-credential programmes at IADT in film, media, immersive technologies, and design. The additional funding is consistent with the ambition outlined in the government’s recently published Roadmap for the Digital Creative Industries and will positively impact learner opportunities on the specialist digital-first, creative programmes IADT offers under the CFA.”
Students will apply directly to IADT, and the courses are due to commence in March 2024.
