Applied Psychology team host delegation from Tallinn University
Last week, the Applied Psychology team in IADT hosted a visiting delegation from Tallinn University in Estonia.
The delegation consisted of Dr. Ruth Shimmo (Director of the School of Natural Sciences and Health), Dr. Aleksander Pulver (Distinguished Professor of Personality Psychology), Sille Silluta (International Officer), Katrin Kullasepp (Associate Professor of General Psychology) and other teaching staff from the Psychology department.
The visitors were welcomed to IADT by Dr. Andrew Errity (Head of Department of Technology and Psychology), Sonya Hogan (International Officer) and Hannah Barton (Lecturer). They were given a tour of the campus and met staff from all disciplines and areas. The visiting delegation met members of the Applied Psychology team as well as members of the management team during a working lunch in the Media Cube. Robert Griffin (Lecturer) gave a demonstration of VR technology and associated IADT research projects. The visitors also toured IADT’s Psychology Test Lab, facilitated by Sean Henriques (Technician) who introduced them to the equipment and activities that psychology students use as part of the BSc (Hons) Applied Psychology programme at IADT.
The importance of the visit was highlighted by a meeting between the visiting delegation, David Smith (President of IADT) and Daithí Mac Síthigh (Director of Strategic Projects). The common links between the two Higher Education Institutes was highlighted which includes membership of Film EU. It is planned to further develop these links via a promising collaboration with participation by IADT psychology students in a Erasmus Blended Immersive Programme being hosted by Tallinn University in March 2025.
