Guest Speaker: Caitlin O’Donnell, Character MakeUp Designer visits IADT
Caitlin O’Donnell gave a very informative and engaging talk on her final year project and her work since graduating from IADT.
This included a variety of productions for the stage, TV, and film such as RTE’s ‘Hidden Assets’ and the OSCAR nominated film ‘An Cailín Ciúin’. Caitlin’s talk was very well attended and an invaluable learning opportunity for the students.
Afterwards, a Q and A discussion further highlighted the role of character makeup design in storytelling and links between character makeup design and psychological aspects of character identification, and narrative and emotional engagement with film and TV.
This joint BSc [Hons] Applied Psychology and BA [Hons] Design for Stage & Screen Character MakeUp Design event was a hybrid session, with both an online and in-person audience, which was co-organised by Sinéad Meade, Clare Barman and Dr Siobhan O’Gorman.
