Applied Psychology team host delegation from Tallinn University
The delegation consisted of Dr. Ruth Shimm, (Head of the school of Natural Sciences and Health), Dr. Aleksandar Pulvar ,( Distinguished Professor of Personality Psychology), Sille Silluta (International officer for the school of Natural Sciences and Health), Katrin Kullasepp, Associate Professor of General Psychology (Tallinn University) and other teaching staff from the Psychology department.
The visitors were welcomed to IADT by Dr. Andrew Errity (Head of department of Technology and Psychology), Sonya Hogan (International Officer) and Hannah Barton (Psychology). They were given a tour of the campus and met staff from all disciplines and areas. The visiting delegation met members of the Applied Psychology team as well as members of the management team during a working lunch in the media cube. Robert Griffin gave a demonstration of VR technology to the visitors as well as showed some of the research projects using the VR equipment that IADT have participated on. Sean Henriques and Hannah Barton showed the team some of the equipment and activities that psychology students use as part of their course.
The importance of the visit was highlighted by a meeting between the visiting delegation with the President of IADT David Smith and Daithí Mac Síthigh ( Director of Strategic Projects). The common links between the two Higher Education Institutes was highlighted which includes membership of Film EU and the importance of expanding our links and collaboration with each other. It is planned to start the promising collaboration with participation by the psychology students in a Erasmus BIP being hosted by Tallinn University in March 2025. This is the psychology courses first foray into Erasmus and we are very excited about it.
