Summer Camps – Creative Computing
school students in the world of computing and technology.
InnovateHER, Computing for the Future, and GameCraft camps will provide students with a taste of the world of computing, with hands-on learning experiences that cater to a diverse range of interests and backgrounds.
These camps are free however sign-up is required via the BOOK NOW links below.
From exploring sustainable solutions through web design to creating digital art and building game prototypes, these camps aim to spark students’ creativity, problem-solving skills, and enthusiasm for the opportunities available within the exciting field of computing.
As well as the technical and creative skills students will gain, the camp is taught on-campus at IADT by undergraduate Creative Computing students, giving participants an insight into the third-level education with the opportunity to learn from students first-hand.

Date: Monday 9th – 11th June (3-day camps)
Time: 9:45 – 3:30 (Monday), then 10:00 – 3:30 Tuesday & Wednesday
Location: IADT Campus, Carriglea Building
Cost: Free
Lunch: a canteen voucher will be provided; however, it is recommended that you bring some lunch

InnovateHER:
A camp designed to inspire and support secondary school students who identify as female, nonbinary, or transgender in exploring computing and technology. This camp focuses on UX, Web Design, and Development, with an emphasis on the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Participants will brainstorm innovative solutions to global challenges such as climate action, quality education, or gender equality, and design a website or app to promote their ideas.

Computing for the Future:
This camp is designed to introduce secondary school students, particularly those from DEIS schools and others who may not have considered third-level education, to the exciting world of computing.
The camp will focus on Generative Art & Creative Coding using P5.js, allowing students to create stunning digital artwork through code, while also providing a glimpse into college life and potential study and career options in computing.
By the end of the camp, students will have a portfolio of digital art projects, new technical skills, and a clearer understanding of the possibilities within computing and third-level education.

GameCraft: Create, Code, Play:
Participants will design and build their own playable game prototypes using beginner-friendly tools.
By the end of this camp, students will have a working game prototype, a deeper understanding of game development, and insight into studying game design at college.

Registration – all camps are on the same days, so please register for one camp only. Places are free. However, you do need to register as places are limited.
Waiting List – If a camp is full, you can email us to add your name to a waiting list. If a place becomes available you will be notified by email.
Cancellation – If you can’t make it to the camp, please email us to cancel so we can offer the place to a person on the waiting list.
