Faculty of Film, Art + Creative Technologies Connect Module
The aim of this module is to:
- support the transition to level 8 study
- give students an overview of their chosen discipline
- enable students to collaborate with and gain knowledge of the other disciplines in the Faculty and their place within it
- enhance students Critical and Creative Thinking and their communication skills
- focus on the First Year Experience and help students to get to know each other and the Institute
Sessions were run on EDI (Queer theory and Intersectionality, Race Awareness and Anti-racism, Traveller Cultural Awareness, EDI & Mutual Respect and Consent Plus), Academic Integrity, Neuro-diversity, Mental Health, Disability Awareness, Assistive Technology and Intro to Library.
Students formed interdisciplinary groups to create a Digital Artefact representing their view of the faculty. The groups were self-selected during their FFACT Workshops module.

NTUTORR
An NTUTORR funding application was awarded to the module lead Louise Glynn. This will be used to employ students to help redesign the FFACT Connect module and create associated digital media content. This project will run May/June ’23. Any students who are interested in paid work on this project should fill in the following form.
SAGE
A Best Practice case study on the EDI elements of the FFACT Connect module has been published by SAGE, which is the equivalent of Athena Swan in Australia. The EDI elements were co-ordinated by the IADT EDI Manager Claire Mc Ging and sessions were delivered by Claire, Rachel Skelly (IADT Consent Officer), Adaku Okafor (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Consultant) and Mary Mc Donagh (Traveller Cultural Awareness Consultant)
