Who is this Open Day event for?
This Open Day event is for second-level students, mature students, guidance counsellors, teachers, parents/guardians and anyone who is applying to the CAO this year and is interested in starting a full time undergraduate course at IADT in September 2025.

Do I need to pay for parking at Open Day?
There is lots of parking at IADT and it is free of charge on Saturday 23rd November for Open Day attendees – no need to pay & display.

How do I apply for a restricted course?
The key points are that you must have applied to CAO by 1 February 2025 at 5:15pm if you wish to apply for a restricted course. The restricted course must be included on your course choices list by that date, or added to your application using the Change of Course Choices facility for a fee of €10 before 1 March at 5:15pm.
Restricted courses normally require additional assessment procedures, for example, the submission of a portfolio, an oral assessment or interview, or a written assessment. Restricted courses are identified in the CAO handbook by the words “(Restricted – see page 3)” on the same line as the restricted course’s title.
Please make sure to acquaint yourself with the additional requirements, if any, of the restricted course(s) that you have applied for and go to page 13 of the CAO handbook for more information about interviews and assessments.

What type of supports do you have available in IADT?
The Student Experience team and the Student’s Union are available to offer support to all IADT students across the 2024/2025 academic year. Please check out the following link to see all the supports that we have available here.
Do you offer the HEAR Scheme?

What are your fees of Irish + EU Undergrad Students?
The Fee Schedule for 2024/25 was €3,000 Euros for Irish/EU + UK Students attending college for the first time. Please check out this link for all the information on our Fees for Irish, EU, UK and International Fees.
How much should I budget for cost of supplies etc.?
Every course is slightly different in some courses you won’t need to budget for any supplies, but others like Film + Art you may need a small annual budget. We try to include it on the specific course page when available. Check out iadt.ie/courses for more detailed info.
Do you accept Mature Students?
Yes we do. Mature students make up about 10% of our student population. For more information please check out the following link.

Portfolio
Some IADT courses ask prospective students to submit a portfolio, which should demonstrate your enthusiasm for the course as well as your interests and strengths.
Useful tips
Portfolio Submission
Before you start your online Portfolio Submission:
- The Digital Portfolio Submission platform for 2025 applicants will open before Christmas with the final date for submissions being March 2025.
- You will need your CAO number to begin your submission. All courses which require portfolio assessment must have been included on your CAO application by February 1st.
- Your digital portfolio should have a minimum of 10 pieces and a maximum of 25 pieces uploaded to your submission.
- We have prepared some helpful tips for photographing your work.
- Film + video files must be under 5MB for upload, larger files must be submitted via a url: YouTube, Vimeo, etc. Please make sure that any online videos are public and password free for assessing.
